Isogloss map for final -d elision, in Iberian Peninsula Spanish, according to ALPI .
This map is complex, as in many of the surveyed points there is hesitation about pronouncing the final -d, generally voiceless (as the Castilian z) and most of the times relaxed, or not pronouncing anything. It's better to speak of a hesitation area in the Duero valley and upper Ebro, while in the rest of the peninsula the usual option is not pronouncing anything.
The only word registered in the ALPI surveys that has been used in this map is :
Zone A : Points where final -d is pronounced (voiced or voiceless).
Zone B : Points where final -d is sometimes pronounced (voiced or voiceless).
Zone C : Points where final -d is not pronounced.
Zone D : Other languages. Zones where historically Spanish is not the local language.
